Inertia

  • Define the term inertia
  • Relate Inertia and Newton’s first law of motion
  • Define inertia of rest, inertia of motion and inertia of direction

Introduction

Inertia is defined as the inability of a body to change its state of rest or motion; or direction by itself. When a body continues to do some work, then it continues to do it until some external force causes it to stop doing that. The internal forces present in the body cannot change its inertia.
