The resources and means required for economic and social development of the nation are known as infrastructures of development. Education, Health, Technology, Drinking water, etc. are the infrastructures of development.
Means and Resources
A way or method or instrument by which result is achieved is called means. Similarly, resources denote the natural, economic, political or human assets of a nation.
Types of Resources
a) Natural Resource: These are the god-gifted resources available freely in nature. Example: minerals, forests, etc.
b) Human resources: These are the people who are expert in doing certain task efficiently and contribute to the development of a country. Example: teachers, doctors, etc.
Need of Human Resource
- To carry out developmental works by the proper utilization of existing resources
- To form social, economic, and political organizations
- To speed up the development of the country
- To develop new technology and idea
Measures to Produce Skilled Human Resource
- Practical, qualitative and effective education should be provided to all
- Develop technical and vocational education system according to the need of itme
- Training opportunities should be given to the people as per their interest
- Study, observation, research, etc. should be done
Relationship between skilled human resource and employment opportunity
Any work done for earning is called employment. It helps in overall development of an individual, society and the nation. An educated, skilled and deidcated individual can easily get the opportunity of employment due to knowledge, skll, efficiency and competency. A manpower produced can either be employed in an institution or become self-employed. This contributes to quality of life and progressive economic development of the country. Also, it eradicates the deepest problem, i.e., poverty.
How to decrease poverty?
a) Increasing remittance from foreign employment
b) Increasing literacy rate, production of skilled human resource, increasing trend of self employment
c) Commercializing agriculture or decreasing dependency on agriculture
d) Increasing poverty eradication projects
